Save the Manatees

Mom, I have an idea to save the manatees - we will sneak down to the water and take off boat propellers.

Glad he is so proactive.

Another Adventure

Today's adventure, paying a locksmith to get Audrey out of the home office she locked herself in...

She was trying to get away from Elysse because Elysse wouldn't stop touching the iPad.  She had just had lunch and went potty before locking herself in there plus she has movies on the iPad so she wasn't worried.  In fact, when I would have her come to the door to try and unlock it she did try but couldn't wait to get back to the movies.

Mother's Day

First I must say that being together is the best Mother's Day gift I could have ever received.  The thought of being apart on Mother's Day made me cringe (though part of me thought it should get me some REALLY good gifts).

On Saturday we went to the neighborhood pool for the first time.  We played for two hours and met some friends there.  It was great.  I love this neighborhood!  On our walk back home I asked Ryan if he needed to go out with the kids to do some Mother's Day shopping.  When we arrived back he decided he would take the kids out to do a bit of shopping.  When they came home we went to California Pizza Kitchen for dinner.

I woke up a bit later than everyone else on Sunday morning.  Well, maybe I was up before some of them but I didn't roll out of bed until they were awake.  There were cards and gifts on the table for me.  Nathan's card was priceless...I will type it here.

Dear mom,
I am glad this happy day is here.
I will not tell secrets to Audrey.  I will
clean up my own mess and not complain.  I love
you on this happy day and evrey day.  Can I
drive to cherch today?  Can we go for a nacher walk
today?  Can I cook today?  Do you like this speshal day
? From Nathan,

Nathan did make toast for me.  We decided he could only drive 25 mph to church and we would drive back.  We did not take the nature walk but will probably do that this coming Saturday.

This was also my first Sunday at our new church branch.  It was nice to finally be here and start putting faces together with names.  Ryan and I were also interviewed by a member of the branch presidency and I was given a calling as Primary President.  Way to welcome me to the branch, hey.

I will be posting some older posts before too long and pictures.  We have been here for one week and almost everything is set up.  I still have to go through the garage so we can fit both vehicles in there but that should be done in the next week or two.  Today is laundry day.  And I should also clean the kids toilet as Nathan is pretty gross and it is different now that he has to share with the girls...

Moving

After we found out that we were definitely moving we decided Ryan would leave by himself to begin work and the kids and I would follow at the end of the school year. Since then I have regretted that we did not just all move down at spring break. I have also thought that perhaps I would pack the car, take the kids and come back to move when we are scheduled. Now we are on a different plan. After a terrible day of events yesterday, I called the truck company and asked if I could move up the date. They happily accommodated without a charge! The truck arrives next week and by the weekend I will be on my way to Naples. This will give Nathan a chance to start school there and hopefully make some friends for the summer. All in all, I believe the kids will transition well. I need to get this move over with and not let it loom over us for the next five weeks and the girls desperately miss their daddy. Wish us luck and if you happen to be here and want to help, that would be fantastic.

Accelerate

I was driving Nathan to school. Audrey exclaimed, "wow, this car can really accelerate!"

Easter

This year Easter was a bit different for our family. The kids were on spring break the week before Easter. I have had planned for months that the kids and I would be in Florida for spring break. As it turned out, all of the changes in our life worked to our advantage for a vacation that included Daddy too.

We spent the week in Venice (and Naples as Ryan and I were driving back and forth for a couple of days). At the end of the week we headed to Orlando where we were joined by Rosie, Zach, Alaina and Sandy. We spent three nights at the Nickelodeon Hotel and two days in Sea World. It was a fun time and the timing helped as we were having a ton of fun and were super busy so we did not focus on the separation that was going to take place.
Imagine my surprise when I opened the hotel room door to see a beautiful sky with hot air balloons.
She was not included in coloring the eggs this year...but she didn't care.

Elysse did get to decorate a cookie though.

Okay, okay I know. I am a bit "anti mess" but the kids didn't mind at all.

One finished product that was captured before being devoured!

Once the Easter Basket was on the ground, the chocolate had no chance. Check out her cheek.

After initial disappointment with clothing in the basket Audrey discovered that she too received a chocolate bunny. She claims it is her first...
Glad to be woken up for a surprise!

Pictures for Daddy

I am guessing you are remembering the last time you held your babies before we drove north. Only six more weeks to go! We are counting the days when we are together again.

Kid Funnies

Nathan: Mom how old is our car?
Mom: 8 years old
Nathan: when was it born?
Mom: 2004
Nathan: I think it is still 7 (he was born 8/20/2004)
Audrey: when our car was 1, was it small?

Audrey goes into bathroom and starts pulling her pants down...
Mom: generally people close the door when they go to the bathroom.
Audrey starts to close the door and then opens it back up (pants around her ankles)
Audrey: what are general people?

Family Secret

Well I was just checking a friend's blog and read her post on a family secret. Ours was so similar I thought I would post that now...

Ryan has had a hard time at work for some time - as in there just is not enough work. We began an intense job search about 8 weeks ago and we just found out last week that we are moving to Naples, Florida! The work is going to be much more intense - almost a complete contradiction. We are so grateful we were able to find such a great job, in a place we love as quickly as we did!
